Replacing shitty jobs should be a good thing?
Elon Musk mentioned that repetitive and boring work will be done by Robots in his supercar factories. You might argue that’s a good thing. Robots are good for replacing people doing shitty jobs.
Does this also mean that the fired workers that build up his EV empire for the last 10 years by doing shitty machine labor (and nobody really cared)now finally can educate themselves to get better jobs?
Not at all.
They will be wandering around soulless in a Metaverse. Without meaning, without belonging, without a purpose. Drugged on digital dopamine addiction.
Slaves on a remote control, giving their life energy and data to self-learning machines.
When you believe tech in this moment of time is here to help humanity, you’re betting on the wrong horse.
You only need to remember the following one crucial thing.

When you’re old enough and remember the 90ies or even the 80ies, the promise of technology was celebrated with a vision of plenty of free time for further education and uplifting activities. Space colonies would be floating around. Problems like cancer, nuclear waste, or even the cost of energy itself would have been long solved by holy tech.
Well, look around.
We are ambushed by cascading crises and civilization collapse.
Be real. Tech didn’t set us free.
Still, every silly new invention like a holographic running buddy or any other new innovation replacing real human connection or real humans is celebrated as this grand victory of humanity.
While the world is going to shit.
